Real Examples of Systemic Inclusion in Practice
Explore real-world inclusion transformations where practical SEND strategies, leadership support, and regulation frameworks created measurable improvements for schools, staff, and students.
Reducing Behaviour Incidents Through Regulation
The Challenge
A school was dealing with high levels of daily dysregulation, rising behavioural incidents, and severe classroom disruption that left staff running entirely on empty.
What We Did
We audited the whole environment and introduced a comprehensive regulation framework. Staff received extensive training in co-regulation, internal provision spaces were completely rebuilt, and explicit executive function checkpoints were embedded directly into daily lesson structures.
The Result
Documented behavioural incidents dropped by 70%. Staff confidence increased significantly, and student engagement in learning rose across the board.
Designing an Inclusive Resource Provision
The Challenge
High-needs students were spending more and more time outside mainstream classrooms simply because the structural support wasn’t there to keep them safe.
What We Did
We worked closely with the leadership team to build a dedicated inclusion base from the ground up. This involved setting up a sustainable staffing model, custom timetables, and a clear, milestone-tracked reintegration pathway back into mainstream lessons.
The Result
Internal exclusions dropped sharply. Neurodivergent students built real independence while maintaining a genuine sense of school belonging, establishing an inclusion model that other schools in the area now travel to learn from.
Strengthening Early Identification
The Challenge
A setting was consistently catching communication and developmental challenges quite late, which led to entrenched difficulties and stressful transitions for young children.
What We Did
We designed and embedded a clear early identification toolkit for nursery and reception staff. Alongside this, we ran targeted training and re-engineered classroom spaces to create communication-rich environments.
The Result
Staff began identifying needs much earlier, allowing for calm, proactive responses. Transitions into Key Stage 1 became highly structured and positive, and student outcomes improved measurably.
